This Southwell Sovereign 51 is a custom-built 2019 aluminium sailing yacht, designed as a safe and capable bluewater cruiser. Built to a high standard with marine-grade materials and full insulation, she is strong, practical, and easy to maintain.
Her cutter rig is set up for serious offshore sailing with a Sparcraft mast and boom, foldaway bowsprit, Ullman sails (main, genoa, staysail, gennaker), and nine Anderson and Lewmar winches. Hydraulic backstay, batt-car system, and dual furlers make her versatile and efficient under sail.
The interior was finished by Nebe Boatbuilders in South Africa and offers a spacious, well-crafted living environment. Three cabins (two doubles and one twin) sleep six comfortably, with two Tecma electric heads and two showers. The saloon features excellent headroom, an electric table that converts into another double berth, and plenty of natural light and ventilation. The galley is equipped with a Smev stove/oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, Corian counters, and double stainless sink.
On deck, she has wide working areas, a full cockpit enclosure, davits, dinghy, BBQ, swim platform with boarding ladder, and hot/cold deck showers. Systems include 1000L of diesel fuel, 1300L of fresh water, dual Racor filters, lithium house batteries, generator, solar panels, bow thruster, and autopilot. Safety gear is complete with Viking liferaft, EPIRB, lifejackets, harnesses, fire extinguishers, and Lofrans windlass.
